A society of oceanographic research vessels funded philanthropically and their work and impact in the Red Sea

Founded in 2019, The Pink Flamingo Society (PFS) is a group of more than a dozen private organizations that manage and operate many of the world’s leading scientific oceanographic research vessels with the support of philanthropy. The Pink Flamingo Society is open to international ship operating entities who have funding through philanthropy, are engaged in the collection of scientific data from ships at sea, and follow established protocols for the open publication of their results. This presentation will share more about the society, including their work in the Red Sea.
